The New Bharati

Bharti Tirki, one of the four siblings in this extremely poor farming family is an aspirational young woman from the West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. Her father Amar Tirki , who was the only earning member in the family , worked really hard to educate his talented daughter .

Nevertheless, Bharti had to give up on her studies, because of difficult financial situation at home. The only alternative left with Bharti was to get married like her other two sisters. She was very upset about this.

Sanmat was in the meantime spreading awareness about its skill training programs. These programs were to operate through Sanmat’s DDUKK center in Manoharpur, West Singhbhum. Bharti came across a flyer soliciting applications for a “Sewing Machine Operator” course. This provided her with some optimism. Bharti started gathering more information about the course and the training center. This three-month residential training was absolutely free, including lodging and meals.Bharti immediately got herself admitted for the course in October 2021. Due to her perseverance, Bharti not only finished the program in three months but also secured a position with the KPR Group in Coimbatore, where she will be paid INR 10,500 per month. She is now a promising employee of the company. Continuing her love for learning, Bharti has got herself admitted in graduation through distance learning (IGNOU). She has also taken over the responsibility of her brother education. Bharti’s life has a new path thanks to her diligence and determination.
